Ergonomics
The height of the seat for an elderly person should be bigger than for an average adult, which would make it easier to sitting down and standing up. The optimal seat height for a 5th percentile woman is <405 mm.
The Anthropometric Atlas shows that the greatest hip width of 95th percentile woman who is sitting is 429 mm. For comfort, the seat width has been increased to 455 mm.
